Ruby

Rubies can command the highest price per carat than any other colored stone which makes rubies one of the most important gems on the market. Oddly enough, corundum in its purest form is actually colorless, but it’s different trace elements that become part of the gems crystal structure that cause the variations in it’s color. While sapphires have their own variation, Ruby has the trace element of Chromium.
